The New Slimfast?
I have a MAJOR sweettooth these days, so I bought Slim Fast Optima Protein Snack bars in Whipped Peanut Nougat - and I gotta say, I really like them. It's better than a candy bar, and has a little protein. 110 calories, 3.5 fat, 16 carbs, 5 protein - probably not the BEST option, but not the worst either - and let's face it, I will never be a fitness guru or a totally lean really low body fat % person. I aim to be in shape, have a better than average body fat %, be healthy, and to look decent in a bathing suit - I do not expect to not have cellulite because I will never eat to a really lean diet, and I will never be able to workout hard 6 days a week - and isn't that the way most of us are? But I digress...
So I was looking on the back of the box, and I'm actually interested in this Slim Fast diet thingie.
For a person currently weighing up to 140 lbs... (the weight categories go up by 30 lbs and all that changes is adding snacks and more fruits or veggies, the snacks being the snack bars of course - gotta promote your own product - I only have 1 a day to satisfy my cravings, I can't imagine 3 a day being a good thing).
- It suggests a Slim Fast Meal on the Go shake - which I probably would rather have real food for breakfast, although I'm not good at real food for breakfast because I eat it at work - so it has to be nukable but eggbeaters works, and Kashi hot cereal works
- A SF Fast Meal Combination, which is a high protein shake with like 1/2 a turkey sandwich on whole wheat (they call it a sensible food choice) - I like this idea
- 1 sensible meal where 2/3 your plate is lean veggie and the other 1/3 is your lean protein - the example is carrots, snow peas and grilled salmon to be about 500 calories - I really like this idea
- And have 3 fruits or veggies
Now that seems simple enough to follow. I like the plate portion breakdown thinking ALOT. Seems like Slimfast has come along way since the liquid diet days.
Whipped Peanut Nougat sounds pretty enjoyable.
